Programs Overview

Urban Fields Foundation programs are designed to support school-based learning through structured, supervised, and developmentally appropriate activities. Programs are adaptable to the needs of partner schools and are delivered in coordination with educators and administrators. 

 

Audience: Middle and high school students
Setting: In-school, after-school, or community-based

Students explore food systems, soil health, plant biology, and sustainable growing practices through hands-on learning. Programs emphasize environmental stewardship and systems thinking.

Educational outcomes include:

  • Introduction to urban food systems
     
  • Awareness of sustainable agriculture practices
     
  • Understanding plant and soil science

 

Audience: Middle and high school students
Setting: Classroom-aligned enrichment and project-based learning

Students engage with environmental science concepts, including ecosystems, climate impacts, and human-environment relationships. Activities promote scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
